Ever notice there is a progression to hunger? I have been noticing lately as I lose weight that when I start getting hungry, I start thinking about food. My belly isn’t giving me any hunger pains. I just want to graze or snack. The next step is when my stomach starts feeling empty, hungry. I begin to go crazy thinking about food and staying away from it. I get busy doing things to keep my mind off my stomach. The last step is all out hunger. It is meal time and I am ready to gobble everything in sight.
I have found that if i wait until the last step, I tend to eat too fast and the food does not go down very well. If I eat at the graze stage then I eat too much because I eat small amounts at a time. The best stage is the middle one when I am starting to go crazy. I am ready to fix a meal, sit down and slowly enjoy it.
